Sukhothai fishplate salvaged from the Turiang Shipwreck (AD1370) with proof of authenticy.

Underglazed fish decoration facing left encircled with two rings which does not meet perfectly.
The glaze is clear/greenish with many small pinholes. Mouthrim slightly flattened with 2 rings. Outer edge slightly raised.
5 spur marks imprinted at the bottom and the clay under has whitish quartz impurities.

Only a small portion of the shipwreck's ceramics was brought to the surface for study. A number of pieces was donated to Muzium Negara, Kuala Lumpur and Pacific Museum, Pasadena.
Aquired directly from the private collection of the late Sten Sjöstrand, Nanhai Marine Archaeology.

Extremely good condition for its age with no nicks or cracks.

The cut in the lid is for the handle of a soup spoon to stick out, so you can close the lid, keeping the soup warm and keeep the spoon in the soup, leaving no mess.

Later, both sons and grandsons ran the company untill it closed in 1968.

Lovely porcelain confectionary bowl for sweets or decoration with wavy edges and square cut outs.
We do not have much information about this, other than it was bought for it's classic and fine appearance,from an old and now decomissioned Chinese owned rice mill.
It seems hand made and hand painted with a small, indistinct mark under the bottom.
